Caring for you since founded in 1966, and supported by dedicated and highly trained members, we offer around the clock coverage to our community. Volunteers are the foundation of our membership, but we do have some paid members to help enhance our services and provide the highest level of pre-hospital care available in the area.
The Haysi Rescue Squad is dedicated to assisting the residents of the Town of Haysi, and the surrounding residents of Dickenson County. If you have an Emergency Dial 9-1-1, we have two 4×4 Basic and Advance Life Support equipped Dodge Ram Type 1 units ready to serve you in your time of need. Our Rescue Squad only responds to 9-1-1 emergencies and we do not perform routine transportation services.
We are always looking for members who feel the need to give back to the community, and help others in their time or need. Rescue squad membership is open to all persons regardless of race, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, status, or handicap. If you’re a trained EMT we could use your help, and if you’re not trained we can help train you. If you don’t want to be medically trained, we still need members to help maintain our building and vehicles, and help with other tasks that help keep our rescue squad in operation.
Haysi Rescue Squad will gratefully accept any donations either monetary or non-monetary made to us as well, including equipment, vehicles, professional services or time. All donations are tax-deductible, as we are a IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
